This game is great. It is certainly a huge improvement on SVR 2006.
The new controls are a bit hard to master (now using R3 as the grapple button), but if you change your controller setup to option 4, it is almost the same as the previous game, but slightly different (you have 2 types of grapple power, and normal. For power grapples, which a really cool, you have to hold R1).
Not the most up-to-date roster.
It is a shame that there are no new match types, but they have improved the usual ones (ladder and table etc).
It would have been cool to have the ECW brand included, but "Smackdown vs. Raw vs. ECW", doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
The best thing about Smackdown vs Raw 2007 is the new and improved season mode. Unlike the rest of the games they have actually improved the season mode. There are lots of different stories, and I have played the season mode for just about a week now, and not yet come across a repeated story line.
The graphics seem to be slightly better than the last game.
Power grapples, allow you to get involved. For example, your wrestler will get the opponent in a fireman's carry position. Then you decide - you can perform a Samoan drop, or an airplane spin.
A part of the crowd is now accessible, allowing you to become more hardcore.
In SvR 2006, in a backstage brawl you were able to pull your opponent (in a grapple) towards an object, and use the object as a weapon. You can now do this in the basic ring.
The roster is great! The roster is:
Raw Superstars:
Triple H, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin, Big Show, RVD, Edge, Kane, Carlito, Viscera, Snitsky, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Umaga, and Johnny Nitro.
Smackdown Superstars:
Batista, Rey Mysterio, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Booker T, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, Matt Hardy, Mr Kennedy, JBL, The Boogeyman, Gregory Helms, Joey Mercury, William Regal, Hardcore, Kid Kash, Super Crazy, Psicosis, Big Vito, Paul Burchall, The Great Khali, Davairi, Chavo Guerrero, and Bobby Lashley. (There are more Smackdown wrestlers, but remember Raw has Divas as well).
Divas:
Trish Stratus, Lita, Torrie Wilson, Mickie James, Candice Michelle, Melina, and Jillian Hall.
Legends:
The Rock, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley, Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love, Roddy Rowdy Piper, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mr Perfect, Dusty Rhodes, Jim The Anvil Neidhart, Bret Hart, and Eddie Guerrero.
Others (who you can wrestle as):
Tazz, Jerry The King Lawler, and Shane McMahon.
The GM manager mode is as challenging as ever, but you have added options, which allow you to remove injuries etc. You can also manage your rivalries, which makes it easier to beat your opponent on the ratings war.
The locker room has improved, allowing you to move around (Like Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth).
