Styling as only the Italians know how... Good attention to detail and bungee points, to prove its not just a toy! Flexible engine, with an astonishing kick as the needle reaches 6k rpm. Class competitive and reliable exotica.
Compared to the first generation 'Mille' these models are more cramped for tall riders,
Trading this off for more agility and less 'top heavy' handling. Foot peg positioning could be better (Many fit adjustable pegs and this really improves life).
The clutch is 'OK' at best. Not great around town - But hey! It's a sports bike.
A bike you can love - Perhaps a little less so than its predecessors?
Buying used should not be a problem - Try to find one already equipped with an alarm and as many, tasteful extras as you can.
'Factory' models are not worth the extra, unless you do track days.
Recommend loosing a tooth (16-15) on the front sprocket: it makes for a more pleasant ride.
The 'R' lacks a steering damper - under full power, on less even surfaces mine shakes its head like a 'Quo' fan. Otherwise fine.
04' lacks radial calipers -But breaking is not an issue under any circumstances.
RSV= Really Stonking V-Twin.
