Friendly enough staff.

Myself and my partner recently applied for a loan. We received no response for 2 weeks, so I gave them a ring, to which they replied an answer would follow shortly. No answer; so another call, and there were problems with our address. That was resolved, but no idea as to why the application was still stalled. Abbey National said we would get an answer in 24 hours. No answer. Interest rates have increased by this point, and it's 14 days later. Their website and phone messages say "5 days" maximum for a reply. Finally, to the 4th phone call and we where declined. No information as to why. All we wanted to do was consolidate 7k of debt so our monthly outgoings where a 1/3 of what they are. We both have secure, full time well paid jobs, and a house, and we have never missed a payment for anything. Now we are faced with applying for a loan at a higher rate of interest. Thanks ABBEY!
