EVERYTHING IN THE APARTMENT!

When we arrived & picked up our keys we could see straight away that the place was probably nice once upon a time but was now unkempt.
The curtains of the apartments could be seen from outside and were so dirty they looked ready for the bin.

Our apartment was a total mess. As soon as we opened the door the kids said "We are not staying here." There was not a single good point. There were used cotton buds on the floor, dirty towels, sofa was filthy, balcony doors had glass that looked like it had never been washed, the doors looked like they had been battered & kicked in before by the state of them. Dirt & grime around the edges of the floor. Filthy and bare kitchen area. The worst thing of all was the disgusting, dirty smell. We went to reception, was told the woman sitting behind the desk would go and clean it later to leave our cases there for now.
I decided to phone Travel Republic back in England. I had to do this from my mobile phone & was on the phone probably around half hour all in from Tenerife. I dread the phone bill coming in. We eventually saw the so-called cleaning lady coming from another apartment, not a bottle of bleach or disinfectant to be seen.

We went off to look around the area, not very impressed, too quiet, hardly anything in the area other than a shopping precinct with not much but a few tourist shops, some bars & restaurants, would have soon become boring after a couple of days. We went back to the apartment after eating.

The room had been so-called cleaned, windows not touched, edges of floors not touched, basically all was done was a quick wipe round with a damp cloth, quick wipe over with mop, change of towels & bedding. It still had the disgusting, dirty smell and still looked filthy just tidy & filthy! The kids walked to the look at the pool & they said it seemed not too bad.

The cheap holiday ended costng more! Fisrt there were phone calls on my mobile from Canaries to England to Travel Republic, when they finally gave me the right number to call I was on the phone around half hour to a very helpful lady. I was given a number in Las Americas which was around another half hour call from my mobile and a few shorter calls. The girl there was briliant. We then had to get a Cab to look at the new possible accomodation which was 20 euros. Then onto the office. The girl there was another very helpful person, who phoned on & reserved a place for us in Costa Adeje. This was at an extra cost of 135 euros for a week, then in another cab to take us there. Apart from the extra costs we also had the first day of our holiday ruined.
SAND CLUB APTS SHOULD NOT BE IN ANYONE'S TOUR BROCHURES!!!! IT'S A RUN-DOWN, FILTHY PLACE.
Anyone that does stay there are putting up with the worst as they feel they have to. I spoke to two different families, both had the same complaints as us, but were putting up with as it was only for a week. Sorry, but my health & that of my kids comes first & I believe staying there would have put our health at risk. Unfortunately after we had booked I came across many reviews online saying how bad the place was, had I seen these before I would never have booked!!!!
I NOW THINK I AM ENTITLED TO SOME SORT OF COMPENSATION FOR THIS HOLIDAY & THE EXTRA EXPENSE I HAD. TRAVEL REPUBLIC ARE CERTAINLY AWARE OF WHAT A DUMP SAND CLUB IS & FALSELY SELL IT WITH AN OUT OF DATE (JUST BUILT/OPENED) PHOTO.
DON'T GO UNLESS YOU DONT MIND PUTTING UP WITH ANYTHING COS ITS CHEAP.

WE WEREN'T LOOKING FOR THE BEST -- BASIC WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE !!! BUT WE ONLY WANTED CLEAN ACCOMODATION...THATS NOT MUCH TO ASK IS IT ??!!!!!!!
