Good Points

A big comfortable car, comfortable ride, comfortable, well adjustable seats, good equipment (4 electric windows, driver's airbag, some models have passenger airbag + more, air conditioning, in some models it's automatic, 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic, power rearview mirrors, fog lamps, Xenon headlamps, alloy wheels (15"), electric antenna, some models with electric sunroof and electric seat adjustments). Lots of storage space, with two large cup holders. The console is well laid out, even though it is a bit old fashioned, lots of wood and leather all over the place which gives a classy feeling. The car is stable, rides like an American Ford or Pontiac, and it is very fast (220 kph + max speed). It also responds fast as soon as the needle hits 3500rpm, and the engine can rev up to 7000rpm, even in fifth gear. This is one of the few cars that I loved being in, despite being big. Now the 406 isn't stable, but it does handle turns well, if you don't go too fast (120 kph). The BMW's and Benzes just stick to the road as if they're feeling it. But this car is Asian, and it can JUMP!!! No kidding! The suspension is weird, and even though you don't get a good feel of the road on the steering wheel, the car just obeys!!! At 160 you can do amazing turns. In the city I did a turn once at 80 (you have to see the turn, people stop to make it!!), and it just turned, not a single sound from the wheels; it changed directions and kept going level to the horizon! This car's territory is the highway: The city sucks, and you have to keep changing gears all the time if it's a manual, and that's where you feel the gearbox isn't made for low speeds (at 40 and lower in 2nd the engine looks dead, fighting for reincarnation). Once you're on the open road, you'll love this car's superb handling (somewhat of a Russian roulette driving style car), but you have to keep your distance from trouble. As in, assume the car isn't telling you how hard it's trying to obey your orders :)

Bad Points

Ah. Fuel is expensive. Now a car that eats up fuel isn't always welcome. Except if it's such a sweet performer as the Leganza maybe?

General Comments

Despite the Daewoo Leganza 2.0 CDX Injection's large and really wide body, I never had it dented, or crashed. No ABS in my car, but the braking is tops, and I haven ever had a problem. You could almost swear it has ABS (part of this is because the car is actually heavy, so the wheels don't lock, but rather keep on pushing due to the weight and the friction applied to them).

This car would be THE car for me because I just love mountain stretches and highways, and cruising in them at ease. If it wasn't the expensive and pocket breaking maintenance and repairs for this car, which hit sky high digits... I had the engine blown once, and the engine, made by Opel (Vauxhall) costs around 8.000 Euros (or I've had one offered for 2.000 Euros, same age as mine, ie. 5 years old, and no guarantee. Hell NO!! If you buy this car, don't EVER BUY ANYTHING USED OR WITHOUT A WARRANTY!! Trust me: Clutch Disk, electronics, starter motor, even the engine had to be replaced more than once, because the right piece was not for the right model. Plus, Daewoo ceased to exist, so that should make it that bit harder to want to have this car.
