The only good point about metronet is the monthly pay scheme (i.e. no 3 month or year long contract obligation). But since a lot of other companies offer this now, this can scarcely be used as a positive.
When I first started with this company it was good. When it was taken over by Plusnet it turned rubbish. They have a horribly low bandwidth limitation of 20GB per month. This used to be much more. When you exceed this all services apart from Internet browsing are blocked (not just P2P and file sharing programs!). I was no longer able to access poker sites or certain chat facilities.
The customer services which used to be prompt is now rubbish. You have to wait hours on the phone at all times of the day, and then they just refer you to the email facility on the website. I never got replies to several emails ... just the automated "your query is being dealt with" nonsense.
In short avoid like the plague. This service is OK if you only use the Internet for browsing the web and the occasional download. Used to be a good company... now sadly they are in the very bottom tier of service providers... no better than my previous provider Virgin ... and they were BAD!!!
