The LG LDS5811BB dishwasher looks good, but remember looks can be deceiving. It is poorly engineered, and it's nearly impossible to get parts for it (still trying to get another slim direct inverter motor, as mine burned up just a little after a year. Any help anyone?). LG Customer service have been very unhelpful.

Overall, total dissatisfaction with the unit and the company.

Try to contact Best Buy's service department and ask them to help you out if possible. I don't remember you saying where the dishwasher was purchased. You could also contact Majap Industry Veteran John Herrington who has taken the helm of LG's digital appliance division as of January 1st this year. He will oversee all aspects of LG's appliance business in the U.S., as well as continue to manage LG's sales functions. I don't believe that you have made contact with the right people in order to resolve your problem. You shouldn't have these problems, but I feel that there is someone that is employed by LG that is willing to help you with your frustration. LG is having some growing pains but wants to be a top appliance company in the U.S. One of their main problems is that the service repair / support people have not been trained for various reasons (growing sales over service), and one example is that LG's operating system is totally different on their dishwashers from almost every other company except BOSCH.

Keep in mind that now Whirlpool has acquired Maytag, and with that acquisition Whirlpool is the same parent company for Kitchen Aid, Estate, Roper, Inglis, Maytag, Amana, Admiral, Performa, Jenn-Air and Magic Chef. All of these companies have had a problem at some point in time leaving frustrated consumers just like you.

Maytag and Whirlpool, along with GE, Electrolux, LG and Bosch also make appliances for Sears under the Kenmore brand name. You will not see LG sold at Sears as an LG, but you might unknowningly buy one as a Kenmore. I would suggest that you look up LG on the web, find a contact site such as (contact us) and send them an email. Good Luck and hang in there! Keep in mind that not everyone that has bought an LG has had your experience. There are many satisfied owners, and it is growing more and more as a popular product in the U.S.

I feel your pain. I have been and still are going through the same thing with LG. I will NEVER buy anything by LG again.
