I went to Maplin Electronics to buy simple common parts for electronics projects. That was 3 years ago when I did not have access to Internet. In so many instances, they do not have the most common parts, you go to the shop to buy an electrolityc cap and he tells you that they don't have it in stock.
On other times another guy was moaning because I ordered a bunch of simple diodes and transistors for my project and apparently to him going on the back and getting the parts for me was too hard a job!
Notice that I tried many of their shops scattered all over London: in Hounslow, Hammersmith, Central London, you name it. I always went there after looking in their catalogue and always got back either with half of what I wanted or nothing at all.
In other instances I had some serious problems getting a rightful refund. These people don't have a clue. Just a big waste of time, this is what Maplin Shops are.
The Internet is packed with shops. I do not recommend Maplin at all.
