Good Points

Great looks, reputation, value for money, reliability, Honda after-care, most everything!

Bad Points

As always turning circle & the passenger seat having to be reset to its position every time someone gets in the back (a pain but not for me as luckily I'm usually in the drivers seat).

General Comments

Even after 11 months I still feel special getting in the Honda Civic Type-R! Fair enough it can't touch my previous car for handling (Peugeot 106 GTI) but more than makes up for it in just about every other way. One of the main reasons I bought the car was for the Honda reliability, as all my other cars have been European and been nothing but trouble and up to now, this hasn't let me down in over 12,000 happy miles. When I bought the car I kept telling myself I've got a dream car as I've always loved them and after all this time, nothings changed! I still feel privileged to own & drive such a car. Buy one now!

Hi i used to own a 106 GTI for around 5 years and loved it to bits it cost me a few quid due to reliability issues but every day i drove it i got a smile on my face..

I'm currently looking for a Civic Type R and i was wondering how it compares to the 106 in terms of performance. I understand the handling wont be as good and i'll be amazed if i find a car that handles better than the 106 but is it much quicker and whats the running costs like???
