General Comments

Computer games are getting very expensive in the modern day, and I mean VERY expensive. I used to walk into the game shops on a Saturday and pick one out and buy it fot anything from ten pounds to fifty pounds. Fifty pounds on one game! Now, I only buy what I really want to buy. The game shops never allowed me to do this. You can walk in and be greated with stacks of new games which you have absolutely no interest in and simply want the game rated number one in the charts. And you find its sold out and worth a third of my monthly wage. So what is one to do. After receiving a catalogue from Gameplay advertising all the new features and upcoming media, I realised that this was exactly what I wanted. So on several occasions, I ordered games by cheque. I also investigated the website and was very pleased. The home page advertises the new releases in order with full narrations and reviews about each one. What struck me the most about the catalogue and the website was that postage was free, a word I don't usually hear. Plus all of the games, even the new releases had up to twenty pounds off. Now thats a saving! A game being thirty instead of fifty pounds! The website included a search engine which can find many back dated games and games for specific genres such as aircraft simulations and interior design software, as well as electronic toys and board games. When ordering, Gameplay provides a simple order form in which you can chose to pay by debit, credit or postal cheque. Postage and packing is free (!) unless you decide to pay for first class or express delivery. You chose whether you want your game delivered in a card box or padded envelope, depending on how up your letter box is! The box and envelope are also well sized to ensure that they actually do fit into your letter box and prevent you from travelling to the postal offices to pick it up. Well done Gameplay! By signing up to the catalogue scheme, you also receive news about upcoming releases, especially before Christmas. Nothing else is sent; no junk just the catalogue. When I have preordered games, they do not charge my account until the game has left their facility and they are happy to return the money or exchange the product if it is faulty. The preordered games come either on the day of High Street release or a few days before which is great. Since the company is based in the UK, you are guaranteed your game on time or before time. So you can trust your company to be British and not in the middle of America somewhere. But if you want to pay in Euros (perhaps if you're in Europe) the currency converter will change all the prices for you. If you'd prefer to order by phone, the number is also listed. Gameplay has a variety of specialist areas of sales including Star Wars, The Sims, Mario, football and many more. They also do more than PC games. They do PS2, PS3 (when it arrives but has already got previews), PSP, the X BOX franchise, the Nintendo franchise including 'Wii', Gameboy, DVD video and toys. You really cannot go wrong. Take advantage of the PayDay Sales also in which great brand items are sold for prices as low as 2.99 over a weekend. One of the best things though is the customer service policy. They guide you every step of the way with your order and tell you where your funds and order are at all times. If you have problems, the Customer Service line is always there if you need help with friendly staff. If you want more of a quick conversation take advantage of the 'Live Chat' help window. There is really a lot to say about a shop which has got everything right. The only problems you may have are that internet shopping is known to have potential risks. I am really off the idea of randomly interneting every items I want, but I really trust this site. Generally, I have nothing bad to say about the nest gaming business I have ever seen. And I seem to get the games I really want without spending huge amounts of money. Just try it.
