General Comments

In our family we have two Denon UD-M31 micro systems. After 3 years both have the same fault. You can control the volume on the remote, but, the manual volume control fails after a minute or so. The system goes on full power. The "Lack of Service" department at Denon deny there is a problem.

It is a great piece of kit when it works, but, if you have a problem, Denon seem to take the view - buy another one! "Our systems are very reliable". "We do not know of similar problems"

I have exactly the same problem. As the unit was just out of guarantee when it happened I have not had it repaired (or dared to find out the cost!). I'll keep using the remote until that breaks and then I guess I'm stuffed. As this is the second Denon I've had that has reliably developed problems just outside the guarantee period I feel they've had their chance and I will be replacing it with a different make, something more long-lasting.

There clearly is a problem with the UD-M31 volume control as exactly the same thing happened to mine. First the manual control only increased the volume regardless of which way it was turned, then the volume became progressively more reluctant to respond to the remote. Finally it's given up altogether.
