No other company was willing to insure me, a learner driver, on a Suzuki Jimny because it was an SUV. The fact that its top speed is about 75mph, and it's acceleration is rubbish didn't seem to change their mind about its SUV status. However, National Farmers Union offered a discount on SUV's, and they have been friendly and helpful.

My brother is also insured on the car, and even though we are both high risk.

NFU car insurance accepted that only one of us could drive at a time, so it cost very little extra to insure both of us.
