Good Points

Staff at hotel Louis Creta Princess Melame Crete did their best under the circumstances

Bad Points

Definitely not a 4 star hotel, and First Choice were unhelpful at the airport - delayed from 11.30am until 8pm and had to phone England to get information, as there was no rep at the airport, and when one did show, all we kept getting was it was an Act of God

General Comments

What can I say? The weather was awful as the island of Crete was hit by a mini hurricane. We were flooded and had no water for two days, and we had to use baby wipes to keep clean, and pool water to flush toilet. I appreciate that no one was equipped to deal with this, and the staff at the hotel were great, even managing to use a generator to get food prepared and served, but no one did anything for 4 days, and the entertainment was horrible - anyone can get up and mime and dance to Grease. There was nothing to do, as the hotel was in the middle of nowhere, which was not the information given in the First Choice brochure, and even though it was coming to the end of the season things were closed. Everyone got fed up with looking at the same walls and playing cards, as there just wasn't anything to do, and because of the weather we were confined to the hotel. The beach was even washed away by the hurricane - roads washed away, and being at the bottom of a hillside and next to the sea, it was horrendous.
