I think the Villanova Apartments in Albufeira are very good for families. The reps were great with the kids, and being right on the strip was great for the shops and places to eat, although I would imagine quite noisy at peak times. We were in block 3, which is a ground floor apartment, and it was ideal for us with 3 children, and not too noisy being at the back.
The beach having to be reached going down the appropriately named "Cardiac Hill". Also the pavements are very bad - definitely not for people wearing high heeled shoes.
All in all, I would recommend this complex. Our children loved it, and it wasn't bad value for money either. The two bedroom apartments were huge, with two bathrooms, and it was kept lovely and clean.
