General Comments

A great name, great fragrance - poor product. I was very disappointed with Clairol Herbal Essences Colour. It is expensive for a Clairol product. The color was not as brilliant as I expected and the tone was somewhat muddy. (Admittedly, I didn't use one of the more high-impact colors such as red)

The product was somewhat thin and a little runny and it made my scalp burn, despite the "no-ammonia" claim (with ammonia based colors the ammonia evaporates into the air as the color processes so the pH changes from "alkaline" to "acid" making ammonia colors better in my opinion). The conditioning was very poor. My hair felt matted and tangled after the color was rinsed-out. And the after-color conditioner did little to improve that. It was better after it dried, but not as glossy as advertised on TV, and the color faded faster than any hair color I've used before, and I've used just about every brand in the USA at one time or another. It was gone after about 3 or 4 washings, about 2 weeks.
