Airgunner99's Review of Daystate Prestige X2
17th Oct 2006
Overall Rating
- Value for money

- Handling

- Accuracy

Nice trigger, fantastic walnut stock, super quiet when used with external moderator
Accuracy is very good and easy to use safety catch
Bad Points
A little on the heavy side once it has a scope and external silencer attached but you will get used to it. Magazine is designed for longer pellets and so restricts pellet choice (so no Crossman Accupels).
General Comments
I first got my Daystate Prestige X2 at Christmas and have loved it ever since. The first time I used it I was astonished with the accuracy. The only time I had some trouble with the accuracy was one time when the pellets could be seen spiralling in mid air but it seems to have stopped it now. The stock is fantastic. I still can't bring myself to drill a hole in it to fit a bi-pod. The gun can be gripped using the thumb hole or with the thumb upright. Both ways are very comfortable. The gun is a little on the heavy side but you soon get used to it. I find it works best with Daystate FT pellets I found.
I was able to hit a shotgun shell with all 10 shots at 35 yards. Also at 50 yards I was able to knock down a metal crow (the ones with the holes in the middle) about 9/10 times. The last one was due to the wind.
I have used the magazine with shorter brands of pellets but in the manual it says it can jam your gun.
Overall I would fully recommend buying this gun. It's rather expensive but you get what you pay for.
