Good Points

Close to the heart of the resort, but far enough away not to be hearing night clubs.


Bad Points

No air conditioning.
No oven or grill in room, just a basic 2 ring hob.


General Comments

I travelled to the Borinquen Apartments in Playa De Las Americas in October 2006 with my partner. We are both in our mid thirties. I was a little apprehensive at first about apartments, e.g. was there going to be young lads drinking and partying to the small hours? Were the rooms going to be clean etc? But I had no need to worry!

The rooms were fine, apart from the lack of air conditioning and cooking facilities, but as this is a 2 star complex, it boils down to "you get what you pay for". The pool was a good size, well kept and always clean. There were toilets close by, and a bar for refreshments. Although the bar doesn't open until 12:30pm.

I wouldn't recommend this complex to anyone thinking of taking kids and looking for entertainment for them via the complex, as it's non-existent. However, there's loads to do round about, and if your plan is to use Borinquen as a base just to sleep, there should be no problems. It is good value for money, and ideal for couples who just want a break.

All in all, I found the complex to satisfy 90% of my holiday needs, and I would have no hesitation in going back.
