Appalling customer and delivery service, complete disregard for the customer, delays in refunding monies.


General Comments

This is one of the worst retail outlets that I have ever dealt with and would never order from The Cotswold Company again. Ordered £700 worth of furniture (after 25% discount) in July with a confirmed delivery date in September. The company guarantees in writing that customers will be informed 24 hours before the actual delivery date as to whether the delivery will take place in the morning (7:00 am - 12.00pm) or afternoon (12:00pm to 8:30pm). This did not happen and after numerous telephone calls to the company, was told that they were not able to advise on am or pm deliveries. On the expected day of delivery, the courier company left a voice mail message at my workplace at 9:00am, even though I had provided my mobile and home tel no., to advise that the delivery would be in the afternoon (note that I was at home waiting for the delivery and did not therefore receive this information until I returned to work the following day). The furniture did not arrive (the courier company had again left a message at my workplace at 20:12 stating that they would not be able to make the delivery). I had wasted a complete day with nothing to show at the end of it. The customer service staff, once you were able to get through, were completely indifferent as the overall impression was that this was a complaint they had heard all too often and after reading numerous reviews on various other websites about the company, can now understand the attitudes that I was faced with. After managing to speak to the supervisor, I was assured that my money would be refunded and that I would receive compensation. This is nonsense, it has taken three weeks for me to receive the refund, after several telephone calls and a letter to the Head of Customer Services.
