General Comments

The apartments are nice. The bedroom was very hot and humid, and you need a fan or air conditioning. It made my asthma worse. There were no locks on any inner doors, and as the toilet has 2 doors leading into it, you had to be very fast in there! Our 2 year old kept bursting in.

The baby pool was colder than the main pool, but it was OK. We spent most of the time there. If you want a sun bed with a positionable back, you will have to get out there quite early. There is one entertainment bloke, and he plays killer pool, water polo and a few other games, which you may as well join in on, as there is not much else to do on site. The evening shows were quite poor, but you can walk to the bars in minutes, and the bingo is free and you can win drinks.

We had a nice time at the Cinco Plaza Apartments in Puerto Del Carmen, Lanzarote, but we would choose somewhere with more going on next time. The parrot show lasted less than 10 minutes, and it was 10 Euros per photo.

We didn't eat there, as there were loads of places doing cooked breakfasts for 2+ Euros, so you can take your pick.

In all, it was a very cheap holiday. Nice big apartments and nice people.

Cigarettes are 13.40 Euros for 200 Mayfair, and a bit more for other brands, but shop around because prices do differ. It was £20 for 400 on the plane.

They also cook Paella, which is 5 Euros per plate, and you get a free glass of Sangria. It was a huge plate!! I don't eat sea food, but the gigantic prawns, mussels and other large shelled things were easily taken out, leaving the chicken, pork and beef, and it was actually quite nice.

There are some fantastic birds on the edge of the beach. They are bright yellow with long thin beaks, and they sift through the sand. There are a lot of flies on the beach, so take some spray or they will drive you mad. I have quite a few bites, even with using spray.

Also beware if going on the main stretch of the beach. We came down the stairs, stepped onto the sand and our feet burned badly. It was so hot, we had to get straight off the beach, but walking back we spotted little bits of beach with a few feet of sand which was not hot. The sea was a few feet away, so it is ideal for toddlers.

The pedalo's the on beach were 10 Euros for an hour. There were lots of people on them just paddling out and sunbathing or swimming. They also do big family size ones for 15 Euros.

This is a good review however a little too picky. You go on holiday to enjoy the sights and the culture and to experience what the place has to offer, not to stay in the hotel complex all the time so I am not bothered about there not being much entertainment in the complex itself as I would much rather be out and about enjoying all the tourist attractions that Lanzarote has to offer. I have read a lot of reviews of this hotel now and almost all are excellent reviews, the reviews that are not so good tend to be just nit-picking things from fussy tourists. However, this review made a good point about the temp of the sand on the beach and the flies which I will bear in mind. Also it's nice to know that there is free bingo and that the boats are cheap. I am hoping to rent a family size one when I go to Lanzarote in June as there are six of us going. The paella sounded lovely, I can not wait to try some as paella has to be one of my favourite types of food.
