General Comments
I have banked with Barclays for over 20 years. During this time I have switched branches a few times, and I have always found great customer service.
I don't often call by telephone, but on the odd occasion, I have never been directed to overseas call centres, and I have found them to be reliable. I have never had any security problems, or even had any wrong transactions on my account.
Internet banking is the best I have used - the limit of £1000 per day transfers is a pain, but I would rather have this than someone else access my account and empty it!
The interest rates are not great. But, hey, not many high street accounts are.
I have used HSBC, Alliance & Leicester and Co-op in the past, and I have never found them to be as friendly, reliable or easy to use.
Barclays are a good solid bank in my opinion.
