General Comments

I can't wait to leave Northern Rock once my mortgage tie-in period is finished. The day to day running of the mortgage is fine. However, as soon as you need to change product or move house, things turn bad. Their 'hidden costs' appear comparatively high, their documentation is misleading, and I would question the quality of staff training, as I'd often get completely different answers to the same question. In my last dealings with them I had to take my complaints to the FSA before they bothered to respond to me. To be frank, I'd be happier paying an extra few hundred pounds a year with a different provider.
