Very good facilities and quite well organised. We had no delays clearing security. There are plenty of car hire firms in the arrivals hall, and they seemed very efficient. I used Record and had no problems, but left a blank credit card swipe, but I was assured it would not be used to cover tyre, windscreen and underbody damage etc.
A bit crowded, although it was at the end of the season. But a new extension will be operational at the end of October, so that should clear any problems. It seems the Spanish are ahead of the demand, unlike UK airports, which are years behind the current requirements for servicing passengers.
Alicante is a popular area to visit, with lots of good features. Benidorm is a favourite destination, and deservedly so as it is clean, quite up market and packed with features that would appeal to virtually anyone. It is some distance from the airport, but connections are not too bad.
