Good Points

The ipower 5000 comes with 512mb or ram and a 2.4ghz CPU, which was perfect for me as I use, allot of applications that eat up the systems resources. This laptop handles them perfectly without hanging or slowing down too often. For those of you that use VMware or Photoshop know what I'm talking about. It has a very large 15" screen which nice and four USB ports, which is great. It few extra features that most other laptops were charging extra for. All in all, this is a good desktop replacement laptop.

Bad Points

As I said it is a good desktop replacement laptop. It is very large and cumbersome when you are trying to do some work other than your desk. Although it has a nice big screen, the resolution can only be set to a maximum of 1024 X 768 at 32 bit. Which is OK for none technical person, but I need to be able to have the screen resolution bigger. It is incredibly noisy. The fan turns on every 5 to 3 minutes and it is loud and annoying. You can hear the hard drive chug away every time you do some thing. There are four quick launch buttons that cannot be labelled to say what application they will launch. The battery is the biggest problem it only lasts 2 hours; hence it is perfect as a desktop, not a portable laptop.

General Comments

For what I paid, I got a deal. As many of the other laptop brands were offering lower spec machines at a much higher price. I pretty much bought it as a desktop replacement, which was a good thing because It really is not a very portable laptop. It very stylish silver, which I think is the new black for laptops. Don't be put off by my bad comments if your looking for a desktop replacement, buy this, it is worth every penny. If you want portable laptop don't buy this, you will waste your money. The overall performance of this machine is average, but then again you get what you pay for. This review many seem a little harsh but I work in IT therefore I know what to expect from any equipment I buy.
