Cheap and cheerful.
No regard to customer when damage to checked luggage occurs.
No through checking of luggage to other flights - need to collect bags from carousel and then re-check bags. In BKK this means having to go through immigration to collect bags, and then having to pay Baht500 airport fee to get back onto the airside. If you travel with Air Asia allow a lot of time to transit to any flight.
They broke my suitcase and made a wholly inappropriate repair in order to fulfil their basic responsibilities. This repair failed on the next flight 5 days later. I gave up trying to get satisfaction from them, and I bought another bag for US$27 in BKK. As far as I'm concerned Air Asia lost their credibility for the princely sum of US$27.
