Good Points

Customer service is excellent, and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. Someone from the office kept in touch with us and liaised with the hospitals directly, paying all bills immediately with the hospitals, and all additional receipts submitted to them after the events were settled without delay.

An excellent service!


General Comments

Fortis were the travel insurers when my daughter went to Thailand on holiday. She was badly injured in the tsunami and Fortis were fantastic. They paid for me to fly out there, and all my expenses, in addition to hers, were covered whilst she was in hospital in Phuket and Bangkok for three weeks. They were constantly on the telephone updating me and checking everything was OK. They sent a nurse over to accompany us back, and we were assisted to our door. We incurred no additional expenses whatsoever. We had cause to use them again last year (December 2005) when we went to Mauritius and my daughter was ill with a tummy bug and was admitted into hospital. Fortis paid for all the hospital expenses, and had a dedicated person from the company who kept in touch with us. All flights were rearranged, and nothing was too much trouble. I don't feel we could have received a better service. They were excellent!

Fortis travel insurance was given to us free with our Alliance and Leicester Building Society investment accounts.
