“Upon my first visit to the food bar at Oriental Pearl,...”

Good Points
The restaurant was clean and well laid out. The staff were polite and friendly. The range and quality of starters was good.

Bad Points
A lot of the main meals tasted as though they had been warmed up, and as the night went on, the choice of food decreased as none seemed to be replaced, as it was eaten. The chocolate fountain looked lovely, but it was positioned a bit close to the raw food for my liking. There also seemed to be a number of small flies about the restaurant.

General Comments
Upon my first visit to the food bar at Oriental Pearl, I was very impressed with what I saw. From then on though, it seemed to go downhill. When I went up for the main meals at about 10:00 (1 hour before the restaurant closed), I found some dishes were no longer available. Even the likes of sweet and sour chicken and crispy fried beef had all gone. I feel that if they advertise 40 - 70 dishes are available, then they should be, and not for a limited time or on a first come, first serve basis. After all I paid the same price as those that went in early. I did have a word with the manager about this and he told me that if I had requested, then he would of had some more dishes cooked for me, but who really wants to have to do that.
