Run by Italians, hence the best cappuccino's ever!
Nice selection of quality cakes and pastries.
Comfortable seating in nice surroundings.
Nice soft music in the background.
Friendly and efficient staff.
So good it gets a little queued at times, but well worth the little wait!
You have not experienced a really great cappuccino until you have been to Costa Coffee Shop. You can choose this or any of their other coffees in three sizes. The large is an absolute "must have" for me every time I go in town. We are talking huge! The cup is so big it has a handle on either side! The coffee itself is sooooo delicious when you eventually get through the chocolate topped creamy froth on top! I use a spoon and eat it like coffee cream, but you could always try drinking through it, I promise you will be left with the creamiest looking moustache!
To go along side my cappuccino I usually have a pastry (cheese whirl) or one of their home made biscuits (macaroon). I sit back in their comfortable chairs or sofas and enjoy to the max, sipping my coffee, munching my snack and resting my aching feet! All this for under a fiver! The large coffee on its own is £2.50.
The Costa here in high street is not quite as nice as the one in Bedford Street, both in the city centre. There is building work going on next to the Bedford Street Cafe, but it causes little disturbance while they are completing the re-vamping of the City Centre. When works are finished, this cafe will be in a prime position, I guess it will get even busier, but the best is worth a little wait, if I have to.
