Good Points
Decent space, looks good.
Brakes are great.
Bad Points
With my automatic version, I find the acceleration slow to respond.
General Comments
I have the Honda HRV 1.6i 4WD automatic version and I find the acceleration slow to respond. It has made me feel unsafe at times. I also find petrol consumption considerably higher than I was told by the dealer. In the city I get 7 - 8km/L. I was told I would get 11 - 12km/L. I also am bothered when going down a slope / hill. The car actually slows down by itself, you have to accelerate to get down the hill. The car would come to a stop if I didn't accelerate. Needless to say I have had it checked out very carefully by the dealer, but they tell me its performance is supposed to be like this. Apparently it has a different gear box design which makes it accelerate differently and is also responsible for the slowing down when going down a slope. Perhaps the manual gear shift performs better.
I would never buy this car again. I am actually selling it. Through my experience with this car, I have been put off Honda's in general.

Hi. Sorry, but I don't agree! I have owned 20+ Honda's over 30+ years, and have owned a 5-door HRV with CVT for the past 3 years. Magic car! Comfortable, reliable (it's a Honda!), fair performance for its size & weight, 28+mpg whether driving around town or 90mph, plus on motorway...Not tried it off-road, but managed 1 in 3 slopes in deep snow on North York Moors without a hint of loss of traction - that was with four people plus luggage on-board. I hope Honda find a decent replacement in due course. I saw some weird American looking creation on the net called a Crossroad, which is supposed to be the replacement, but it is so ugly it makes a Fiat Mutipla look pretty. Don't do it Honda. The HRV is still a classic design, and it should be tinkered with as little as possible. I LUV mine!
