Good Points

The products were less than anywhere else I found but this becomes irrelevant when they don't turn up.

Desultory staff

Terrible delivery times (still waiting)


General Comments

I placed my order with Activ Hair (www.activhair.co.uk), received no confirmation email as the site stated I would do. I went back to the site after a week and tried to log in (I had the correct email address as my computer had stored it), but the site claimed that my email address was unrecognised. I left it another week and phoned the number given. Got through to a rather unfriendly woman who said she'd get back to me the next day.

A day later I received one of the products I requested but the shipping statement did not include the other item I had ordered or gave any indication of whether it was to follow or even in existence.

I did not receive a call from the delightful staff member I spoke to and assume that they will just send my item when they feel like it. I am going to call them tomorrow and ask where my product is.

    Update:

    I made a second phone call and was told that the item had just arrived in stock and would be with me by the end of the week, and to call again early the following week if it wasn't.

    It';s now 2 and a half weeks after I made my second phone call. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and still no item, no courtesy call, nothing. I have just phoned for a third time and requested a refund on the outstanding item. I was told that the item I ordered has been discontinued. I received no courtesy call to tell me this, nor a refund, and I would have been left out of pocket had I not contacted them. I have no doubt that they would have happily retained money for a product they had not given me.

    I'm not sure how this company (which I think is an actual salon) manages to survive. Their customer care is laughable, their website flawed and their admin staff obviously need replacing with people who can count.

    Internet traders such as these only serve to deter people from using the lesser or unknown shops. I will certainly never buy from a site which is unknown to me again.
