Good Points

Gen 3 tube is superb. No IR illuminators needed. Build quality so good you could play footy with it. Robust enough for .50cal+. Maxi adaptor (6x) brings everything up another level of quality. Quarry ID out to 1000yds. Really. Aiming point adjustable and switchable. Case better than anything you can buy. Tube life good for 1000hrs, so running costs approx £1/hr. Battery life long enough to be useful, not too long that if you accidentally leave sight on, you won't use up too much tube time.

Bad Points

SUSAT rail difficult to come by (best way of mounting on AR15 as eye relief adjustable).
Quite bulky, though not heavy. This can make your weapon into a bit of a sail on a windy night!
Strong halo effect on illuminated objects (ie vehicle/street lights etc)
Urban filter kit impossible to get hold of. Not all of us are terrorists you know!

General Comments

I couldn't believe how good this Pilkington MK 4 Kite (gen 3) sight was when I first tried one. 3rd Gen tube made all the difference, especially at longer ranges/distances, when mainly using sight for identifying quarry/objects, etc. When my partner tried mine, he went straight out and bought one (muttering about Eastern Bloc rubbish or something).

Gen 3 with 1000hr tube life? thats strange, gen 3 is usually 10000hr! hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised when it keeps going!
