Good Points
Gets you out of scrapes in foreign countries if you do not have the local currency
Bad Points
£100 a year fee
General Comments
I have had this card for nearly 18 months now. It costs £100 a year to have one a few months ago it was up graded to a credit card. It has proved useful as when you have no money on you it will always be taken. When in a foreign country at the airport renting a car can be a problem without local currency but an American Express card will cover it. Mine is used mostly for emergencys.

I made a payment last month at Lloyds bank as usual, and I was surprised to see it was not credited to my account this month. I enquired about it, and I was told it would be credited. The problem was it had been put into the wrong account. I have never experienced this situation before, has anyone else?

I have now had the card for 8 years. I did not use it much as I had a 0% interest card as well and find that not many places take Amex they advertise a lot of places that just do not take it around my way. It is handy for buying stuff on ebay. If I lived in central or north London it would be more useful as it seems to be for 5 star hotels and posh restaurants.
