Bad Points

6 months after starting a claim, they refused medical expenses ($2500) due to not contacting the department when going into hospital. All details were given to the hospital at the time, but I was not able to contact the insurer due to illness.
he initial expense was just over $1000US (~500GBP), which is the minimum that the policy states is required for contact.


General Comments

The travel insurance claims department should advise immediately on the feasibility of a claim. As such, I know have a bill that started at $1000, and due to lagging of Sainsbury's Bank, it is now $2500 with interest. I am left with no option but to pay a US medical debt collection agency, even though I have paid 3 years premiums to Sainsbury's AND followed all the rules.
