Price is okay. Shot great first 15 shots.
Unreliable. Dangerous.
I bought the Barnett Quad 400 Crossbow brand new and only got to shoot it 16 times. I lubed the strings after every 5 shots, however on the 16th shot, the string completely shattered. I was very lucky that I did not get hurt. I called the place where I bought the crossbow, and they told me that this was unheard of and that the only possible way that this could happen was if the bow was dry-fired. I informed the guy that I did not dry fire the bow, and that the bolt was correctly placed, pushed all the way back. Nonetheless, I was was told that nothing could be done, because it was my fault. Also the manufacturer, Barnett, does not warranty the strings. So I'm out the price to restring the crossbow and I am literally afraid to even attempt to shoot this bow again.
