The restaurant was open three times per day; all you can eat buffet style. The choice of food was good, excellent quality and appetising to look at. The pool was clean, and it was excellent to cool off after a hard days sun-bathing! Plenty of sun loungers around the pool. Self-service poolside bar, well stocked with soft drinks, and generous portions from the main bar. Evening entertainment was great fun, with two professional shows per week. Very motivated entertainments team. Kids loved it. Brilliant mini-clubs, with very friendly approachable staff. Lovely little cove a short walk away, and a small quiet beach. Extremely picturesque!!
Bad Points
The resort is a little isolated, although there is a local bus service, and the hotel put on free excursions to the larger beach resorts and provided a lunch. However, the staff speak little English, and getting the right information was problematic. On resort, there is only one Menorcan tapas bar, and a very expensive English bar. Operator excursions are expensive, and they were not great value for money.
General Comments
Menorca is a great destination for families and those seeking a quieter Balearic experience. Everyone you meet is very friendly and accommodating. Shopping in Mahon was good, with a small market.
Overall, it was a great holiday at the Es Canutells Mar De Menorca, and it was good value for money. However, if we were to go again, we would avoid the tour operator's excursions and use local transport or hire a car, as it would be much cheaper and more flexible.
