Good layout, awesome rides for both adults and children, the park does value for money wristbands for all day ride thrills which also includes free access to a choice of 3 spectacular shows plus the park stays open longer and is free on entry.

General Comments

Me and my husband decided to visit Blackpool for our honeymoon. We visited the pleasure beach on a Wednesday when the kids had gone back to school which was a good move because the park was not crowded and there were no queues which was a bonus, but if were went during the school holidays then we would be queuing for ages. We went on all the rides over and over again. The first ride of the day for us was 'The pepsi max' which is the tallest and fastest coaster in Europe, we were both petrified when we ascended up the track for that first huge drop which is well over 200ft, but the speed of the ride was amazing a real adrenalin buster! Next we went on 'Avalanche' which is another thrill coaster resembling a bobsleigh, that was very smooth and fast. The other rides did not open until midday, but when they did open, we went on 'Space invader' which is an indoor coaster with glow in the dark outer space features which gives you the feeling that your'e flying in a spaceship which was cool!.We went on the 'Iron bru experience' which is a fast single looped coaster which rides back and forth (an exhilarating ride!),next we went on 'Bling' which is a spin type of ride with a row of seats on each arm, thrilling vertical drop ride which propels you up to the top of the tower when you least expect it. I went on the amazing viking themed 'Valhalla' water ride alone because my husband did not want to get wet neither did i, but i did wear a plastic cape and managed to stay dry apart from my feet. No visit to the pleasure beach is complete without going on the 'Flying machines' designed by Maxim in 1904, it was a nice relaxing ride which was a break from all the other thrill rides, next we went on the 'wild mouse', another woodie which was a wicked ride especially when going around the corners beware you may get whip-lashed so lean forward a little and hold on tight!. The park staff were very helpful and friendly and take safety very seriously as we both witnessed a lady fall over onto the 'Wild mouse' coaster track as she was climbing out of the car the ride was stopped for a while, then a paramedic arrived very quickly which goes to show that the park has very efficient safety. The only ride for us that was not working that day was the 'Spin doctor' which looks like a very awesome high scary ride. There are lots of other little rides for families and thrill seekers which are a nice relaxing break from the adrenalin thrill rides, plus the haunted house ride and the trauma house etc. We went on the Derby racers which were a little furious at times same goes for the steeple chase, because at times we both felt as though we were going to fall off our horses, we had to share a horse on 'Steeplechase' because there was only one track working, but we still had a great time!.Our favourite thrill ride was the grand national which has 2 rides in one coaster (which is very rare!) and we managed to have a train each for added fun, we loved the other woodies 'the big dipper' and 'rollercoaster'. You cannot beat a good old fashioned woodie with it's distinctive creakiness and the fact that these rides always feel different every time you go on them. There are a good choice of food outlets within the park, plus plenty of ice cream stalls, plus stalls selling novelty sweets and gifts all reasonably priced. Last of all i went into the 'passage del Terror' which is like an extreme version of the haunted house, but with real actors. My husband was too afraid to go in, but these young lads begged me to go in with them and so i became the leader, the lads were all huddled up behind holding on to me, but it was funny especially when an actor in one part of the house would suddenly jump out at you, they would scream. I thought that the actors were brilliant the make up everything, i had seen a similar set up in 'Thorpe park', but it was in 3D, so at the end of this adventure, we all ran out screaming into this bar and had some strange looks which was quite funny!. When the park had closed for the day, everybody was getting ready to watch a show there are a choice of 3 shows included with your wristband which are well worth watching. We wanted to come to the pleasure beach the following day, but bad weather had spoiled our plans so we decided to cut our holiday short and go home. I would highly recommend this park to any thrill seeker or adventurous family, me and my husband are definitely going again on our first anniversary in September next year and for many Septembers to come.

By the way, in the small part of my review that did not make sense, i forgot to mention that the vertical drop ride after talking about 'Bling' is called 'Ice blast' in case you're wondering.

    Hi Djeva1,

Glad you had a great time. Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been receiving some pretty negative comments recently from ride enthusiasts (the main reason being the closure of Southport's amusement park) so it's nice to see some great feedback. FYI, the Big One is no longer Europe's fastest and tallest coaster. That honour goes to Stealth at Thorpe Park. The advertising at the Pleasure Beach is somewhat misleading! I have been going to Blackpool almost every year since childhood, and I hope to carry on until I am no longer mobile! I'm pleased you had a great Honeymoon there, and hope you have many more enjoyable times there!

    Chris.

    Hi Britchris,
We definitely will have more great times in Blackpool. I went to Thorpe park before Stealth was built but I cannot understand why Blackpool has received negative feedback, also we plan to go to the Waterworld there the next time the weather is bad so we won't have to cut our holiday short!

    Hi Djeva1,

Glad you enjoyed your anniversary there (Smart choice!). My family visited good 'ol Blackie late August this year when on holidays in the lakes and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (as usual). I too loved Infusion. I had previously ridden the ride when it was known as Traumatizer at Southport and it was good then. But the relocation and themeing (there was no themeing to speak of when it was at Southport) at Blackpool have turned it into a World's First, world class ride. I was lucky enough to ride at the front and the design of the themeing in relation to the ride layout is incredible. I just loved soaring up the man made waterfall. Truly inspired. Great to hear from you and happy anniversary.
