Bonzo Banana.'s Review of Samsung HTDM150 DVD Home Cinema System
11th May 2003
Overall Rating
- Value for money

Great sound, superb picture, fully compatible with formats like vcd/svcd, well built, 3 band radio, looks superb, aux inputs, dolby digital, dts, prologic 2, good compatibility with media. Easily made multiregion with remote hack. It has a RGB scart output for superb quality images.
Bad Points
Overall volume is enough but at the loudest I would want is 62 and thats very loud and its top volume is 69 so it may not fill a very large room with sound or you may need to run it at maximum amplification. No true ntsc output when running region 1 dvds or other ntsc material. Can be a little choosy over dvd-r media (not tried dvd+r). Trick play features aren't great. 2x playback is lovely but above that its more like a series of still frames and maximum fast forward/rewind is only 8x. Mp3 playback only shows files in 8.3 filename format.
General Comments
Th Samsung HTDM150 is one of my best ever purchases. Its not without a few niggles though. The picture and sound is awesome. It looks fantastic too and is so well built. If your heavily into sport and need good trick play features its not the system for you. I love it to bits though.
