Good Points

Location is pretty good, away from the busy beach and shopping area, but only a minute or two walk to get there.
Pool was good.
People in resort are friendly.

Bad Points

Staff were at best poor. We had to pay 20 Lira (approx £7.50) per day for air conditioning, which is not cheap if you are a family with 2 rooms, especially when the temperature was averaging 40 for the 2 weeks we were there. There was a dog tied up without much food or water next to the kids park in the hotel grounds. The dog was nice, but it was in a bad way, and there were kids and adults pretty upset with staff and manager of hotel about this, as they refused to do anything about it. Waiting to see if Thomas Cook respond to our complaint.

General Comments

Side is a nice resort, but it is very expensive down in the town to eat and drink. Stay on the beach or away from Side town itself for good value food and service. This year was a bad one for business, and consequently everybody wants you in their shop or restaurant, and you can easily get worn down being polite, and after a few days you are ready to refuse point blank and walk past ignoring the pleading from staff. The shops are all the same; copy jeans and t shirts, copy shoes, jewellery, seaside tat and food. It becomes a pain. Try a couple of trips, and if you have time got to Pamukalle or Capidocia, and the trip up to Manavgat waterfall and river. Rafting for the adventurous or the jeep safari. Barter as always with the "travel agents" for everything.
