Good Points

The rooms are basic, but very clean and with air-conditioning. The maid service ensured the cleanliness of the room was maintained, and the shower and hand towels were changed daily.
The private beach is located on site, making it very accessible. The beach is very clean with fine sand and a little shingle at the shore line. The beautiful, clear sea makes a perfect place to take a refreshing dip. Watersports such as kayaks, windsurfing and pedalos are included in the all inclusive package, with free sun loungers and umbrellas for some shade.

The pool is of average size for a large hotel. Kept very clean, but could get quite busy and noisy during the day.
We found that the food was really nice, with some different options every day. Some food was repeated, such as the wide range of salad, bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. Tunisian dishes were available and very tasty! As a vegetarian, I found that there were quite a few choices of foods for me to eat, which was nice.

Bad Points

Me and my partner like to have a few drinks at night, but after six vodka and cokes had no effect what so ever, I gave up and stuck to soft drinks! My partner said that the beer also tasted very weak.

When we were looking for a holiday, we were advised by the travel agent that this hotel was suitable for couples as well as families. On this information, we assumed that this meant there would be some form of entertainment for adults as well as children. We felt a little let down because the shows on at night were purely aimed at the children. There wasn't really much to do at night within the hotel for us adults. Also, loud music could be heard from the shows until around midnight.

One last downside to our holiday in Tunisia was one that occurred outside the hotel site. In the shops in Hammamet and the market, the sellers are very pushy. This was a little unnerving and annoying when you don't actually want the product that you are trying to be sold. But the sellers are so determined to sell that they will lower their prices if you barter with them, which can result in a great bargain!

General Comments

Overall, I would say that the Dar Khayam hotel in Hammamet is definitely more for people wanting a child-orientated holiday. We had a very relaxing time and came back with great tans, so can't really complain!
