Good for wardrobe 'staples' such as t-shirts, vests, etc. Nice shoes and underwear. Fuss-free returns service when ordering off the Internet.
Tends to be quite over-priced (average price for clothing is around £35-40). Sizing is huge!
All in all, I think that Next is quite a good shop for clothing (I haven't bought any house-hold items yet, but am told that they're of a good quality). Most of their clothing is rather plain, so it's more of a casual/workwear type shop. I probably wouldn't get my clubbing gear from them! If, however, you want a pack of t-shirts or shirt for work, then this is an ideal place. Having said that, their underwear and shoes can be very glam and pretty.
My only real gripe (apart from pricing) is their sizing, it's way out. In most shops I'm a size 8, but in Next, their size 6's are too big! Also, I'm quite tall at 5ft9 and need their longer length jeans and trousers. Unfortunately their long sizes only go down to 8, which just look really odd and shapeless on me. I suppose they're using what's called 'vanity sizing' (putting smaller and smaller labels on their clothing), thereby making their customers feel thinner in their clothes, and as a result, happier to buy them. But from what I can gather all this method achieves is confusion and frustration at not knowing what size will fit best.
