mickhefferin's Review of Ryobi RSH-2455 Garden Shredder

Overall Rating

Good Points

Nice and quiet.
Reverse action, for those inevitable blockages.
Very easy to assemble.

Bad Points

Poor assembly instructions in terms of setting cutter gap.

General Comments

All but the most awkward of branches are dragged in by the self feed and spat out in small 2cm chunks. I suspect the previous reviewer did not set up his Ryobi rsh-2455 properly. Too big a gap and branches get indented not cut. Small branches pass straight through. Set up correctly and even leaves are cut into 2cm strips.

Bought to replace a rotating disc type shredder which was a waste of effort and time. This is far better, If you are going to buy a shredder, get self feed or you are wasting your money. It's well constructed and 2 year warranty. Built and working in minutes.

The Ryobi RSH-2455 garden shredder suffers from a quality problem in manufacturing, of the cutting cylinder.

The cylinder is not concentric, and therefore does not cut correctly!

As per previous reviewer, because of this fault, it will only cut with the blade, which is longer than the others, and will chop into short pieces.

Until the cutting edges are machined properly (concentric), it will not work properly.

We set our Ryobi RSH-2455 garden shredder up properly, and even the replacement machine did not work correctly. You must have had the only one fit for the job!
