From toothpaste to tile adhesive, Wilko's will flog you just about anything. Over 250 stores nationwide and usually conveniently located in town centre shopping malls.
Bad Points
I genuinely believe the prices aren't all that cheap. Yes, some bargains/offers can be found on a few branded products but in the main, it's no cheaper than most good supermarkets, the Wilko's own brand is in the main "tat" and should be avoided.
General Comments
Just look through the window of any Wilkinson store and inspect the staff and customers alike. The profile of a stereotypical Wilko employee and customer has become stigmatised and very cliched. The store certainly attracts an incalculable numbers of pensioners but in the main, Wilkinson is most famous for it's popular appeal for folks who appear to be receiving state handouts. Jobs seekers and the incapacitated alike appear to revel in hunting for goodies in the cluttered aisles. Together with this I don't know if today's consumer has become spoilt, but on my last visit to a Wilko's, the girl at the cash register failed to bag the items I had in my basket, I was well annoyed. Mind you, a couple of months ago I was coerced into parting with an additional pound, as my shopping was bagged by some cadets who were collecting donations. I left the store fuming, so I want clarification on Wilkinson's policy of who is responsible for the functioning of this procedure.

I disagree with this review because...are you really that great a person that you cannot pack your own shopping, I pack my own whatever shop I am in, I would also like to point out that I do not receive handout off the government I work full time and pay tax and NI just like you, the only difference is that my wages will be a lot lower than yours, the shop workers are the lowest paid in the Wilkinson company and we are the ones that have to deal with the unthoughtful customers that just think we are there to pack there bags, (you don't even get that at m+s) and if you didn't want to give a £1 to charity you didn't have to, it was your decision, to think we work for such a poor wage and get spoken about like this, it makes you want to go on income support and let people like you pay for us

That is absolute rubbish, first of all Wilko own brand products work just aswell as the expensive brands themselves, i know this as i have tried several. Also, why should Cashiers bag the goods for you while you just stand there?! They have alot to do in the transaction process believe me without snotty people like you demanding your 28 tins of dog food to be packed in 6 different bags. you expect far too much for the price you pay

I think the review from micky69 was bias and total snobbery, I shop at Wilkingsons and so do my family and friends, by the way we all work hard and dont live on handouts.
