Big comfy seats, cruises effortlessly (when working) and good sound system
The car, unreliable, shoddy build, quality mpg
Unhelpful dealers
Having had 5 Volvos and a Mercedes C class, getting into the Citroen C5 2.0 SX 16V, the first thing you notice is that everything feels flimsy like its gonna break with little use. Vague steering, sensor problems. Why do you think Citroen offer massive discounts. They know that they'll recoup the money from owners on spare parts. Just on opening the glove compartment lid you feel as if it's about to snap. Get into a C5 with 50,000 on the clock and it feels dead, seats sag, trim rattles and god only knows how it reached 50k in the first place. Another giveaway is look how cheap you can buy a 2003 car with minimal mileage. The trade don't like 'em, I don't like 'em, the masses don't like 'em and even Citroen don't like 'em. Everything about the car smacks of cheapness. Still its not all bad for those wanting a big car, there are Volvos, Mercs and dare I say Vauxhalls that are leagues ahead (will Jeremy Clarkson forgive me for mentioning Vauxhall?). Try a Vectra then try the Citroen. You'll see what I mean. If you already have one, I commiserate with you. After 6 months I took the loss and went back to Volvo. Phew, what a relief.
