Faster than most cars out there, Sexy, beautiful, Fantastic noise from a V8 Engine that Growls at other road users, convertible, drives well, handles nicely, has stunning road presence and enough boot space to take it to France on a booze cruise...
The electrics can be quite temperamental, and be prepared to have the AA come and re-start it when the battery goes, but a decent battery conditioner soon sorts this out, the servicing is reasonably expensive, but not in comparison to other cars with this level of performance.
This car is just sex on wheels. It has everything anyone could possibly need and want in a car. The main problem with the car is the bad press it gets due to build quality, but quite frankly I have known a brand new 996 to be a garage for its first six months of life, then the owner demanded they take it back and he bought a TVR. It is hand built, so expect niggles, but every time you take it out on the roads you forgive any imperfections it may have. Just get one if you can.
