Good Points

Our apartment was clean, and the resort wasn't very busy when we went, so it had a relaxing atmosphere, and the swimming pools were pleasant.


Bad Points

Reception was closed on our arrival at night, and we didn't find this self-check service particularly welcoming.
There is regular high-volume noise from jets taking off day and night.
The cleaner doesn't knock, and she in fact walked in on my wife and I at a bad time, which upset my wife. This also happened to another couple we spoke to.
The family running the Filoxenia have a running dispute with the local taxi firm, so taxi's weren't turning up when ordered. One family missed a day trip to Lindos because of this, but more importantly, we and others had to drag cases to the Doreto Resort (about 700m away) to get a taxi to the airport. The 'beach' was a dirty piece of coastline covered in litter.


General Comments

Use of air conditioning at the Filoxenia Apartments in Tholos, Rhodes costs an extra 5 or 6 Euros per day (depending on the size of the room). The rooms come with two electric hobs but no toaster, no microwave and no kettle. Kettles could be hired at an extra cost of 3 Euros per day.

Food and drink at Filoxenia is not good value compared to other places nearby. Those we spoke to who were staying on a half board basis were not happy about the lack of choice (sometimes only one meat and one veg option in the evening).

The 11 year old son of the owner works at the resort. He told me an incorrect price for the BBQ they do every week. The bill at the end of the night was 12 Euros higher that we had expected because of this, but when we complained, and the owner said it was impossible for his son to have given us the wrong price, so we paid up and never ate there again.
