General Comments
The set list is:
Disc 1
1. Battery (5:09) - A great way to introduce the album with thrash and speed. 5/5
2. Wherever I May Roam (6:44) - The road anthem is a classic with great lyrics. Great rendition. 5/5
3. Turn The Page (6:06) - Probably the weaker song, but excusable in such good company. Not bad. 4/5
4. Harvester Of Sorrow (3:43) - Has a very catchy tune and is plenty heavy. Great song. 5/5
5. Nothing Else Matters (6:28) - Things slow down with this great ballad. Passion and skill, this is a highlight. 5/5
6. No Leaf Clover (5:43) - The best song of the album. Extraordinary with the symphony. 5/5
7. Blackened (6:38) - A superb song, sophisticated and heavy listening. 5/5
8. St. Anger (7:21) - A strong song, but exposed by the others. Still solid though. 4/5
9. Fade To Black (6:52) - Timeless classic. Very powerful and emotional. Superb. 5/5
10. Fuel (4:30) - Disc 1 ends with a fast tune leaving you wanting to hear more. Good song. 4/5
Disc 2
1. Enter Sandman (5:31) - The most famous Metallica song and rightly so. Sets the pace for Disc 2. 5/5
2. Creeping Death (6:36) - Continues the fast pace with this thrash song. Great listening. 5/5
3. Master Of Puppets (8:37) - Metallica bear all their big guns early in Disc 2 and this is no exception. 5/5
4. The Unforgiven (6:27) - After 3 heavy songs, the pace slows down here and it sounds amazing. 5/5
5. One (7:24) - The heavyness continues after The Unforgiven. One of the best songs on the album. 5/5
6. For Whom The Bell Tolls (4:52) - The quality continues with this superb song. Just brilliant. 5/5
7. Seek & Destroy (6:52) - Only song from Kill 'em All. Great song which is vastly underrated. 5/5
8. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) (6:27) - Excellent song, my 2nd favourite to "No Leaf Clover". Powerful and moving. 5/5
9. Orion (8:27) - This instrumental changes the pace near the end. Good momento to Cliff Burton 5/5
10. Bleeding Me (8:17) - Best way possible to end the album. Emotional and moving, one of the best. 5/5
All in all Metallica: Greatest Hits is an outstanding album featuring the best line up of Metallica songs possible. This album will be released by the end of 2006 in America and early 2007 around the rest of the world. God bless Metallica. 10/10
