Good Points

Its a good looking printer unlike most laser printers that look like grey boxes. Mega quick print times. Crisp and clear text printing.

Bad Points

Photos have very slight banding, only noticable on close inspection.

General Comments

I bought this printer because I was fed up with ink jet cartridges drying up on me; I only print on average once a week, and almost always its text. This printer is perfect for me. It's unbelievably quick my letters are out in less than 21 seconds if it's sleeping (not whirring) and in 12 seconds if it's awake. The text quality is fantastic, way better than I have ever seen on an ink jet. The black and white photos are rendered very well with only very slight banding, it is noticeable but only close up. However if your buying a black and white printer for printing out photos you must be a bit mental. Full A4 size photos come out in 14 seconds from awake. The printer goes into sleep mode after about 5 minutes of non use. The whirring when it's awake is proberly slightly quieter than most peoples cooling fans in their computer, not very loud.
Installation is a piece of cake ( I'm on windows XP ) I wired it all up switched on the printer, the computer notices it and brings up the hardware wizard, stick in the CD that comes with the printer and the hardware wizard finds the driver list, make sure you select the English one :-) and its done. The CD then asks you if you want to install printer utilities I chose not to as the printer works perfectly well without them. If you are after a professional quality printer for your home or small office this is perfect.
