General Comments

I should have known when it took two of us 10 minutes to open the bottle. The cork just would not come out. Eventually I got to taste what turned out to be a poor experiment in wine making. The bouquet was fresh, fruity and inviting, but the first mouthful was a disappointment; too fizzy, horribly dry, and none of the fruit promised by the bouquet. We didn't even drink two glasses.
Think Pepto Bismol and soda water and you'll get some idea of what it was like.
Having drunk wines I like from Banrock, I suppose it MIGHT just have been a bad bottle.

I disagree with this review because I have found the several bottles of this wine that I have drunk over the last 4 years to be exceptional. A cherry and vanilla note, delightful bouquet and yummy all on its own.
