General Comments

I decided to write this review to get the truth out about the Citroen Saxo VTR. I have had mine for about 8 months now and the only thing that went wrong on it was the head gasket went, but after a few days it was back on the road again. I've been reading other reviews and alot of people saying it's not fast, if 0-60 in 8 seconds aint fast i dunno what is. I mean if you buy a high milage one that has had the engine thrashed then it wont be fast, but get a good low or average milage one, keep it nice, get it serviced regularly, add a few mods and you will have yourself one hell of a car. Mine is a 97 VTR black rockercover with 90BHP as standard and probably runs with about 110BHP now with the mods. It is very quick as i said 0-60 in 8 seconds and can go the naughty side of 120mph, and as it's an 8valve engine it can take one hell of a pounding.
So then people, if anyone can tell me of another car that i could have got for £1900 has those performance figures is only 9 years old and still looks like new, I'd like to know.

Well, my previous car for a start, it was a 1998 Corsa 1.6 16v sport. It was totally standard when I bought it, but it was something else when I was finished with it. I'd lowered it by 40, then fitted a BMC carbon induction kit with a decatted straight through exhaust system. Then I had a trip to Regal Autosport (Vauxhall tuning specialists) in Southampton for a performance inlet manifold upgrade, along with an ECU remap. By this time I was running 139bhp, and no VTR or VTS could touch me. Even with just the induction kit and exhaust I could keep up with my mates Saxo VTS, and now with the rest of the mods, my 0 - 60's were not far over 7 seconds. I'd like to know what mods gave you a 20bhp increase.
