Over many years of shooting, this pellet ended up being the pellet of choice for my Beeman S1 in .177 cal. It is a light weight pellet at 7.1 grs and is well designed for cutting sharp holes in paper (my use) and hunting (nice to have the option). At 10 yds, 5 rd groups consist of a single ragged hole at the point of aim and the muzzle velocity is a decent 750 fps. I get 999 fps (ave. 10 shots) with my B-21 with these pellets.
The pellets fit the bore snugly on both the S1 and my Chinese B-21 in .177. The Silverbear had the lowest standard deviation (4.12) and smallest extreme spread (12.81 fps) over 10 shot strings, eclipsing many other different brands and weights of pellets in my B-21. These are very good numbers indicating a high degree of consistancy, i.e., quality. In the S1, some of the other pellets stood up numerically to the Silverbears, but the Silverbears grouped tighter making it the exclusive food of the S1. I want to utilize a heavier pellet in the B-21, so the search goes on there.
The price of these pellets (more than $9 per 500) is as much as 500 .22 long rifle rounds (when they go on sale at Big 5) - kind of hard to understand that but still I pay up anyway.
If you have a moderately powered air rifle, these pellets will likely give you the most performance for your dollar. If you have a high powered air rifle, these pellets will realize the higher velocities your weapon is capable of while delivering a very accurate and potent little pill.
