General Comments

After spending a lot of money throughout the year and always paying my American Express Gold CREDIT CARD In full before the due date, they were not loyal to me, one of their customers. I purchased an RV on Ebay for my son. I paid through Paypal, which hit my American Express. After bringing home the RV, and it raining, we found massive pouring water coming through the RV into the bed area. After ripping the stapled curtains and wallpaper off the wall, and removing the bed we found black mold and mildew. We got several estimates from reputable dealers that were beyond the price of the RV. The seller, who listed in his Ebay auction NO LEAKS refused to give our money back. I initiated my buyer protection from American Express after being assured by their kind representative that it sounded legitimate and it should be fine, and that I should win. I thus gave up my chance to use Paypal dispute process, since I used the time for AMEX dispute process.

Today I found out my loyalty was slapped in the face when they sided with the seller (who doesn't even use AMEX). I sent American Express Gold photos of inside the RV with the water pouring through, photos of the mold, letters from mechanics and the actual Ebay listing where it is clearly stated "no leaks".

I'm stuck with a lemon in the driveway, and AMEX said that he claimed we spent an hour looking it over. However, we would have had to tear the bed apart, remove the wallpaper and rip down the stapled curtains in order to see the damage, and most people don't tear down a vehicle when looking at it. He would have called the cops had we did that.

American Express lost a customer in me, who spends thousands per month and pays on time. Customer service should be better to keep a good customer.
